The Smartest Oven You've Never Seen

We are indundated with meal prep options these days. From HelloFresh to Blue Apron to Freshly to local options like DuMealz, there are dozens of choices that promise to be delicious and easy to make. I think we’ve tried them all at my house and always came off wondering why they seemed like so much work to produce something that was ok but not an instant favorite. Then we met Tovala, the smart oven.

Oh man! This thing is good. Every week they send me 4-6 meals, pre-made in its own cooking dish. I pop it in the oven, scan the barcode and the oven does the rest. It operates by taking in all kinds of data and then applying different kinds of heat to the individual recipe to produce the best result.

The food is delicious, seriously restaurant quality entrees and sides. They are all around 500 calories and take about 15 minutes to come out ready to eat and are never frozen. Each service is about $11 which I dare you to beat at the grocery store, much less one of the big meal prep deals. We literally have friends and family who “drop by” to see what meals are being served!

The oven can be used for other things, too. It’s the smartest toaster oven in the world and my 10-year old swears she could open a restaurant based on the toast it produces. It’s pricy for a toaster oven, $250, but they have a sale going on now where they knock it down to $49 and give you $50 in free food credit.
